Wacky Wednesday features a weird phenomenon from earlier in the month. Tornadoes are rare in New York. On September 8th at least one tornado struck the outer edges of New York City. Residents were startled thinking of twisters as a Midwestern phenomenon. CNN reported a waterspout with winds up to 70 mph churned onshore and turned into a tornado as it hit Breezy Point. It was crazy with damage and power lines down. There were no injuries from the twister. Amateur video captured the images. You just have to see it.
